Introduction

Exploring the space for the sake of science has been an aspiration for time immemorial, but now space tourism also seems to be possible. In near future you will be able to book a ticket in a space craft for your summer holiday or may even celebrate the Christmas in space. Technology has progressed beyond imagination and soon the space will become a more accessible traveling zone. Technology creates space, changes our scope and enhances our chances. In a recent survey conducted by British Consultancy, Fast Future shows that in the future there would be jobs with titles like space pilots, space tour guides and space architects.

The first name that comes to mind nowadays when we think of space tourism is the Virgin Galactic. It is going to be launched in 2013 itself. The prices are steep but the experience is definitely worth it. They have built the gateway for this purpose at an elevated ground, beside the White Sands Missile Base. They have also planned to construct a luxurious hotel beside the gateway so that enthusiastic space travelers are not bothered by the lack of accommodation. Space traveling is not easy and our body needs to undergo some preparation. Medical checkup is one of the basics of the training period.

After thorough examination of your body you are given training. The tutorials prepare aspirant space travelers for the hardships to come. We need psychological preparation as well as some bonding with fellow travelers. Group hugs and counseling take care of these concerns and motion sickness troubles are also sorted out. Weightlessness can be seriously overwhelming. What you need is the training to cope with it. Parabolic flights or on-site centrifuge can increase your capability of coping with the weightlessness.

Where Virgin Galactic takes $200,000 for each trip and takes the traveler 60 miles above the ground into the space, the Space Expedition Corporation can provide similar experience for only $95,000. In the space-traveling program of Space Expedition Corporation, a single traveler would be flying with a pilot in a two sitter spacecraft. The truth is that space traveling is still at its infant stage and it is growing up slowly. When a technology is young and new it is always costly but when it improves itself over time a way is always found to cut down the prices. Right now many won’t be able to afford the space travel packages but may be down the lane there would be better and more affordable options. The Federal Aviation Administration or FAA has published strict rules regarding the well-informed consent of travelers and the education of the crew on board.
